Keith was employed by Crest Nicholson Plc as a (Technical Design Manager) in the Technical department for 11years reporting to the company Architect, until the department was closed as part of a wider process of corporate restructuring.
During his time Keith’s responsibilities were to set out and coordinate the company’s Technical requirements on standard house types, NHBC technical approvals and provide SAP heat loss calculations as a support function to the regional companies. He also worked as part of a Technical team which set up and maintained the company’s central CAD portfolio of house types providing full Technical support to regional companies on pre-built house types and assisting them where necessary to develop new or modified designs. Keith regularly visited the regional companies to provide them with expert assistance, particularly in the development of new designs, which were increasingly being required by planners.
Keith was a regular Chair of the company’s monthly Technical meetings at which head office and regional Technical managers met to discuss product development, Technical compliance issues and general coordination of Technical policy within the company. Keith also provided Technical assistance in the fast track production of several Ideal Home show homes.
After the closure of the central Technical department Keith was appointed, by competitive selection, as (Technical Manager) to the company’s South West Region; he was still in that post when I retired.
Throughout the 11 years that he worked with me at Crests HQ in Weybridge Keith was a highly competent hard working member of staff. He got on well with his colleagues, enjoyed his job and helped provide the regions with a good quality professional service. We had very few major Technical problems with the company’s product which was a credit to Keith as Crest, perhaps more than most house builders, tended to build complex non-standard developments.
I have no hesitation in recommending Keith to you as both a highly competent technician and technical manager.
